Coming Spring/Summer 2010
Doggie Days Out. We will be holding social dog walks for Have A Good Dog Good Citizen Graduates. We will match suitable dogs and give them an opportunity to practice their doggie social skills with other class graduates. Learn to read your dogs body language when mixing with other dogs and meet other Have A Good Dog human graduates too!

Here at Have a Good Dog we realise that whilst training in a large hall can be useful, nothing beats practising in real life situations. After all, it's out and about, away from the class that really matters! Our town centre venues mean we can incorporate your practical handling skills where it's needed most. So from Spring 2010, all of our doggie students will be encouraged to participate in busy town centre walks. You will be practising around other dogs, people, traffic, cyclists, busy streets and shops.

Starting out on the right paw! Thinking of getting a new puppy? Just got a new puppy and want to give them the best start? We now offer home visits and in house training for your new arrival. These sessions will teach you everything you need to know about puppy training at home.
Not sure if your dog will be happy attending classes or meeting other dogs? Don't worry because in addition to a pre training questionnaire, you have a pre-training assessment in a class situation at our Gilesgate venue at a nominal cost of £10 *. The session lasts half and hour and your dog will be assessed during the appointment around the trainers dogs. It's safe and it will give you and the trainer the opportunity to see whether your dog will be happy in class. If not, we will discuss booking one to one training.
* This fee is for the assessment and is not refundable.
Personal recommendations will only be made to APDT approved trainers or those who are appropriately qualified with a sound understanding of learning theory.
For behaviour consults you can also contact Jo Churlish MAPDT 0878 at jc.pets@yahoo.co.uk
Telephone Advice - I will only offer e-mail and/or telephone support for existing clients with dogs I have actually seen. All behaviour clients receive long term support if it is requested.
