About Us
Vicky has shared her life with a variety of animals. From an early age she wanted to understand dogs, in particular, how dogs learn. Having spent years researching Canine Behaviour, she completed a HNC in Canine Behaviour and Training followed by a Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (no.00849). She has trained dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds in a professional capacity for almost a decade.
Vicky specialises in training all types of dogs. She has four rescue dogs of her own, including Lurchers, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross, and a three legged Collie Cross. All of Vicky's dogs live in harmony within the family home. She has first hand knowledge and experience of the training and behaviour problems faced by many pet dog owners, and her mission is to educate and offer practical help to everyone who wants to have a well adjusted, happy and obedient family pet. Your pets welfare is always a priority, and Vicky's training methods are kind.
Vicky will not just talk through what you need or should do, she will show you through practical training demonstrations. You will be coached through every step of your dogs training with her help, guidance and full support. The skills Vicky teaches, will help you and your dog with real life situations, such as passing other people and dogs in the street, greeting visitors to the home, and coming back to you when off lead. Vicky will also offer follow up support to all clients who have completed a training course, one to one training or a behaviour consultation.
What Else You Need To Know
The term dog trainer covers a wide range of professions and experience. Within each profession there are specialists and choosing the right one is vital. It's the same with dog trainers. At Have A Good Dog we deal with pet dog training and problem behaviours. If you wish to specialise in a sport or similar, we can recommend other professional, experienced trainers in their field including gundog training, but be warned, you may have to travel.
